Happy, healthy, 2024 RVQG! We’re zooming into “virtual gatherings” for the next couple of months, and much has been outlined by your QS Committee to keep us on track to showtime (see calendar below). Sew days and bee nights have been planned to stock the boutique, and details for entering quilted items into the show are now available. As well, you’re piecing your placemat challenge and selling raffle tickets. Thank goodness it’s a leap year, and we have one extra day (Feb. 29) to put to good use for the quilt show! Preparation takes a village, and our RVQG community is undoubtedly in high productivity mode. The mantra…teamwork makes the dream work.

Ready…set…participate!
RVQG 2024 Quilt Show Guild Challenge
I am hoping that all our members will be entering this year's
Quilt Show Challenge. The Challenge will consist of
incorporating at least 80% of a chosen 8 inch square of fabric
into an 12" x 16" placemat. The placemats must be
submitted at our March 2024 meeting. After the show, we
hope that everyone will agree to donate their placemat to
Meals on Wheels. The Fabric and instructions were handed
out at our October Meeting. If you missed the meeting, please
see me (Teresa) to get your piece of challenge fabric at your
next meeting.
Hope you all will join in the fun!
Teresa Parzanese, Quilt Challenge Convenor
RVQG 2024 Quilt Show Merchant Mall
We have eleven fine vendors who have agreed to participate in our upcoming Quilt Show this May. Some are from our Durham Region while others are travelling a distance to join us. They will bring for our show participants some of their latest products and goods such as sewing and embroidery machines, threads, fabrics, kits, patterns and notions.
Our vendors have all graciously agreed to make donations of prizes to help us facilitate door prize draws that our participants really enjoy.
Not only will participants at our Quilt Show see samples of our excellence in quilt making but due to our nice selection of vendors they will also be able to do a one stop shop hop.

RVQG 2024 Quilt Show Treasure Room
“Team work makes the dream work”. Magnum P.I.
We are looking for some “treasures” you probably have stashed in your sewing room that you are no longer using or want. They would be perfect in our treasure room at the show. This room will be like a garage sale; the prices will be low and hopefully will sell fast. Please start saving your “treasures” at your own house since storage is a problem. You can drop them off at the show during the set up on Thursday May 2. Any items left after the show will be donated to Value Village.
Raffle Tickets and Publicity
Have a look at our wonderful Raffle Ticket prizes! The two quilts were made by Jean H and quilted by Carole and Michel from “In Stitches with Carole”, and Laura Z’s husband, Joe, made the quilt rack.
Email Debbie debbie.williamson@gmail.com if you need more tickets to sell.

Volunteer Committee
It’s not too early to start thinking about volunteering for the Quilt Show. At the March meeting Leslie Crothers and Jo Ann Sigindere will have the volunteer sign up sheets available. For a successful quilt show we hope everyone will consider volunteering for one or more time slots. More information will be provided in the new year.
