QFTH Valentine's Day Placemat Challenge

We need themed placemats for Meals on Wheels in time for February 14th.  It's a short time frame but doable.  If you don't want to dig through your red, pink and white stash and come up with your own design, call Diane White at 905-831-1544 and you can get a kit at her house using contact-free porch pick-up.  Please do this at your own discretion as we planned this before the province-wide stay at home order.

Below, you will find placemat instructions and a free on-line link to cutting instructions for differently sized heart blocks (in our kit we used the 8" finished size).

We are planning a Sew Day on Thursday February 4th (10am - 2pm) to gather on ZOOM and make Valentine placemats.  You can use your own fabric and patterns or call Diane for a kit.  We are looking for 12”x12” or 12”x18” placemats.  Share your work with us on ZOOM.  When your placemats are done, please call Kathy Priestman at 416-705-7931 before Wednesday February 10th.  It will be collected from your porch on the morning of that  Wednesday and delivered in time for Valentine’s Day.

Hope you can join us for a little sewing and a little socializing.  A ZOOM link will be sent to you the day before for you to join.

We continue to offer Quilting From The Heart quilt kits using contact-free porch pick-up.  Please call Diane to arrange a time. Battings are also available for members who make  quilt tops from their stash.

Since our last newsletter, we received 1 dresser scarf, 2 pillow covers, and 1 quilt.

Stay safe and happy quilting

Kathy Priestman and Diane White
